MONDAY EVENING EXTENDED HOURS
SURGERY TO CLOSE
Since September 2008 the practice
has been providing additional
pre-bookable GP appointments on
Monday evening between 6.30pm and
8.30pm.
This was funded by an agreement with
NHS South West Essex and part of the
funding has been withdrawn since
April 2011.
During that time there has been an
exceptionally high number of
patients who DNA (do not turn up for
the appointments) meaning that
valuable time is wasted.
The views of The New Surgery Patient
Participation Group were sought and
it has been agreed that we shall
close the Monday evening extended
hours surgery after 23rd
May 2011.
This was a difficult decision but
will allow the practice to continue
to provide extended hours
pre-bookable appointments on
Saturday morning with either the
doctor or the practice nurse.
Should you wish to discuss this
further please contact the Practice
Manager, Mrs. Debbie Elam.
If you would like to join our
Patient Participation Group please
leave your details with a
receptionist and a member of the PPG
will telephone you.
